G.W. Bush & Donald Trump Need to Come Together for our Vets!
The Bush family, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Jeb Bush are refusing to back or even vote for Donald Trump for the President of the United States. I find this refusal to vote for the Republican candidate disgusting even though I heard Trump’s tough condemnation of G.W. for going to war in Iraq in 2003. (I personally have serious reservations regarding our first and second invasion of Iraq and understand how G.W. may take Trump’s criticism personally.) But, Bush’s decision to go to war was as the President of the United States, and not just G.W. Bush as a member of the Bush family.
The result of war are deaths and casualties.
Our Vets are struggling to obtain treatment from our inept, if not corrupt, Veterans Administration, to combat their physical and metal injuries.
I totally believe that G.W. Bush deeply cares for our wounded warriors and that their plight weighs on him every single minute. His real concern is the most perplexing dichotomy in his decision not to support Trump. I would really like to see him reach out and help Trump to help the Vets. There is no greater noble deed for a past President.
G.W., Don’t Abandon Your Vets When They Need You the Most!
Hillary Clinton Will Not Help Our Vets!
Hillary Clinton has already stated that the VA “problem” was overstated and political as stated in her CNN interview: (1)
“Hillary told Rachel Maddow on the latter’s Friday program that the VA scandal was “overstated”, that “overall, veterans who do get treated are satisfied with their treatment,” and that “nobody would believe that from the coverage that you see, and the constant berating of the VA that comes from the Republicans, in — in part in pursuit of this ideological agenda that they have.”
The “Bush Boycott” may help Clinton to defeat Trump who has pledged to revamp the VA and help the Vets. The result will be a President Clinton who does not even believe there is a VA problem and that the Vets are receiving all of care they need in spite of having 22 Vets per day committing suicide!
G.W. beamed his support for the “Invictus Games” that showcase wounded veterans from 14 nations who compete in various competitive sports. This is just one of many events the President supports to help our wounded warriors. He was interviewed by Bob Woodruff of ABC News where he said:
“And, part of what we gotta (sic) do here in America, and in other countries as well, is to … teach people how to deal with these vets, and teach the vets that they can get help,” Bush said. “And so it’s a giant gap that a lot of us need to work to close.” Further, “President Bush says much more needs to be done for those with invisible wounds including PTS and TBI. Says more than 80% don’t want to admit it.”
Sometimes we just have to step outside of ourselves to help others.
This is one of those times.
Time for Donald Trump and G.W. Bush to Step Up
to help our Vets!
