There were 17, now there are 4! 4?
Cruz, Kasich, The Establishment, and Trump!
The “Establishment” is a relatively homogenous group made up mega-donors who are heavily invested in the globalization of the world economy. They own major media outlets and support mega-globalization activists. They are supported by a number of “schools” of suckerfish (they attach themselves to the big fish (donors)) and other parasites who perform functions as lobbyists, political operatives and political pundits. (Including organizations like National Review, Weekly Standard and others)
THEY ARE COMMITTED TO MAINTAINING THE STATUS QUO OF OPEN BORDERS, MANIPULATING CURRENCIES TO TRANSFER WEALTH, TRADE POLICIES THAT ARE SKEWED TO THEIR BENEFIT, AND THE PICKING OF THE WINNERS AND LOSERS IN NATIONS AND GOVERNMENTS AROUND THE WORLD.
In the 2016 Democrat Primary Election, one candidate they do not want is Bernie Sanders. The Establishment will make sure the either Hillary is given the nomination if she is not indicted. If she is unable to run, they will manipulate the Democrat convention and eliminate Bernie. Sad but true. Even if he became president, and no matter who controlled Congress, they would block any effort he put forth to radically change the tax code or otherwise hurt the Establishment.
Donald Trump, their prime target, is their GAME-ON, “Never-Trump”, Bull’s-eye! They have sunk over $140M in candidates they hoped could unseat Trump but who have dropped out of the race. They have spent $100’s of millions of dollars in Super-PACs to pay for ads and anti-Trump ground game tactics.
What are they up to now? 3 Part Strategy
Ted Cruz, Establishment Pawn Strategy: Currently, Ted Cruz has 437 delegates according to Real Clear Politics. Rough math indicates that he would have to win over 80% of the remaining delegates to get to the magic number of 1,237 delegates. Given that most of the delegates remain in the NE and West, this is all but impossible unless Donald Trump dropped out. The Establishment is rallying money and “odd endorsements” for Cruz to help bolster his chances of at least keeping Trump from achieving 1,237. (If Mitch McConnell ever endorses Cruz you know we will be in trouble!) Cruz is naïve and believes that the Establishment will rally around him at the convention, even though he has supported many of the policies they need to survive, do as well as they have, financially. They are also ramping up Super-PAC ads aimed at promoting Cruz and taking down Trump. Will Cruz owe the Establishment when this is over and he continues his political career? Absolutely! But, the Establishment candidate will not be Cruz as they hate Cruz almost as much as they do Trump. With Cruz’s wife tied to Goldman Sachs, they will give Cruz some assurances of down stream support in his political career. I would not hold my breath Ted!
John Kasich, Establishment Pawn Strategy: Pretty much the same strategy for Kasich by the Establishment except that Kasich has zero chance of attaining 1,237 delegates unless the US annexes South American this month! But, Kasich may be able to pry a few delegates away from Trump in the NE and make races in Pennsylvania, Indiana, Rhode Island and Delaware more competitive. The establishment will spoon feed contributions to Kasich at the tune of around $5-7M per month to keep him in pocket-money. They will also use the Super-PACS to help knock down Trump and raise Kasich up in States where they strategy may impact the vote. There will be a sweet deal waiting for Kasich as the VP for the establishment pick, or some cabinet post after his current term as governor is finished in 2018.
Establishment’s Republican Convention Strategy: Their goal is to keep Trump from gaining 1,237 total delegates. They want to force the convention to a second or third vote and manipulate the delegates into switching their vote away from Trump, and then vote for the Establishment’s candidate. Trump has hired Paul Manafort, a long time GOP political consultant, to help fend off this strategy. But the Establishment has the decked stacked in their favor at the convention.
The Chairman of the GOP Convention is none other than our illustrious Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan. He has no love lost for Trump and will do whatever the Establishment wants to help subvert Trump
The State Chairmen and women wield a lot of power at the convention. Most have been hand-picked by the Establishment and will support whoever the Establishment wants or crown as their presidential nominee.
The Establishment has unlimited financial and other resources to throw at this nomination. They stand to lose billions if the status quo in Washington DC and around the world is changed.
Trump’s only chance is to secure 1,237 Delegates before the convention!
