US Catholics & Christians Wake Up! The Left is Taking Over Your Church and Its Rights

This article was reposted from our sister site, Christianity-In-Vogue (http://christianityinvogue.wordpress.com/) which is usually used for primarily for religious topics or topics related to Canon Law but recent events in Washington and the systematic elimination of God in this country necessitate some frank discussion on both sites.

I realize that a lot of Catholics and Christians tip a bit to the liberal side socially but it may be time for you to re-assess your loyalties.  Events are transpiring in this country where you may have to decide between your faith and your politics.  When I see practicing Catholics and Christians with bumper stickers supporting abortion rights political candidates, Republican or Democrat, I cringe and have to say a quick prayer for the occupants of the car and the lives that will be lost.

But, now, the pro-choice position is actually threatening the existence of Catholic

and other Christian service organizations throughout the US.

Loss of Human trafficking Grant from the State:

A good harbinger of what we will be facing as a Catholic community in the near future is the recent loss in State funding to the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops Migration and Refugee Services by the US Government.  Since 2006, the USCCB has received $15M dollars to help offset the cost to support the unfortunate human beings caught up in the recent explosion of human trafficking.  Many of this are children who end up in forced prostitution or worse.   At the core of the loss, is the USCCB refusal to provide abortions or contraception as part of its human trafficking program.  The Department Of Health and Human Services (HHS) sided with the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU).  HHS and the ACLU claim that victims need access to a “full range of family services” that include abortion and contraception.  It is bad enough that we have killed over 3 million innocent victims, now they want Christians to participate in the slaughter.  Sorry but this is not a nice topic.

Sister Mary Ann Walsh, the spokesperson for the USCCB stated that, “There seems to be a new unwritten reg at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). It’s the ‘ABC Rule’: anybody but Catholics,”

Obamacare, Abortion and Contraception:

At the core of the issue is whether the State, our government, can force or coerce a faith base institution such as the Catholic Church to perform abortions or pass out contraceptives if that practice is against the institution’s beliefs.  Prior to today, the State has tried to tiptoe around the issue and has exempted Church’s from adopting to Gay Parents, performing Abortions, or passing out contraceptives.  Now however, under Obamacare, the Catholic Church and other Christian Churches will be faced with the choice of going against their own beliefs or losing State reimbursement for healthcare services under Obamacare, Medicare, or Medicaid.  The Secretary of HHS, Kathleen Sibelius has stated that their will be no exceptions made to service providers regardless of their affiliation.

The Catholic Church provides about 13% of the total US hospital and clinic services.  This is a significant percentage especially when coupled with other Christian facilities where the total service level approaches 40%.  The question is whether the State or the Church will win in the long run.  The abortion prohibitions in Obamacare have been circumvented by HHS and in 2014 the Christian Community will be faced with the harsh choice of getting out of healthcare or accepting abortions and contraception as an ethical practice.

The End Game-Life or Death:

What is the end game and where does Christianity fit in?  How about Euthanasia?  Is that next?  Will the State ultimately seek to revoke the Church’s tax exemption status in order to force it into submission?  It is time for the Christian Community, not just the Bishops, Priests, and Preachers, to draw a line in the sand when it comes to the sanctity of life.  Christ did not say that killing some infants or old people was OK if maintaining their life was inconvenient.  Quite the contrary.  It is time for all Christians, and especially Catholics, to take the lead and stand firmly in the side of life.  Revelations 3:16 states: “So then because you are lukewarm, neither hot or cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.”

We have a choice; when we stand in judgement, which is promised, will we be spat out of the mouth of our creator into eternal damnation or will we be judged as righteous and deserving for standing on the side of Life.  It is our choice but time is running out.

  1. Kit Kat you apparently are a humanist that has no place for God in your miserable life and probably never cracked the Bible open so you can easily take God’s name in vain, well maybe this Ben Stein piece about renaming Christmas trees will open your blind eyes.

Apparently the White House referred to Christmas Trees as Holiday Trees for the first time this year which prompted CBS presenter, Ben Stein, to present this piece which I would like to share with you. I think it applies just as much to many countries as it does to America .

The following was written by Ben Stein and recited by him on CBS Sunday Morning Commentary.

    My confession:

I am a Jew, and every single one of my ancestors was Jewish. And it does not bother me even a little bit when people call those beautiful lit up, bejeweled trees, Christmas trees. I don’t feel threatened. I don’t feel discriminated against. That’s what they are, Christmas trees.

It doesn’t bother me a bit when people say, ‘Merry Christmas’ to me. I don’t think they are slighting me or getting ready to put me in a ghetto. In fact, I kind of like it. It shows that we are all brothers and sisters celebrating this happy time of year. It doesn’t bother me at all that there is a manger scene on display at a key intersection near my beach house in Malibu . If people want a creche, it’s just as fine with me as is the Menorah a few hundred yards away.

I don’t like getting pushed around for being a Jew, and I don’t think Christians like getting pushed around for being Christians. I think people who believe in God are sick and tired of getting pushed around, period. I have no idea where the concept came from, that America is an explicitly atheist country. I can’t find it in the Constitution and I don’t like it being shoved down my throat.

Or maybe I can put it another way: where did the idea come from that we should worship celebrities and we aren’t allowed to worship God ? I guess that’s a sign that I’m getting old, too. But there are a lot of us who are wondering where these celebrities came from and where the America we knew went to.

In light of the many jokes we send to one another for a laugh, this is a little different: This is not intended to be a joke; it’s not funny, it’s intended to get you thinking.

Billy Graham’s daughter was interviewed on the Early Show and Jane Clayson asked her ‘How could God let something like this happen?’ (regarding Hurricane Katrina).. Anne Graham gave an extremely profound and insightful response. She said, ‘I believe God is deeply saddened by this, just as we are, but for years we’ve been telling God to get out of our schools, to get out of our government and to get out of our lives. And being the gentleman He is, I believe He has calmly backed out. How can we expect God to give us His blessing and His protection if we demand He leave us alone?’

In light of recent events… terrorists attack, school shootings, etc. I think it started when Madeleine Murray O’Hare (she was murdered, her body found a few years ago) complained she didn’t want prayer in our schools, and we said OK. Then someone said you better not read the Bible in school. The Bible says thou shalt not kill; thou shalt not steal, and love your neighbor as yourself. And we said OK.

Then Dr. Benjamin Spock said we shouldn’t spank our children when they misbehave, because their little personalities would be warped and we might damage their self-esteem (Dr. Spock’s son committed suicide). We said an expert should know what he’s talking about. And we said okay.

Now we’re asking ourselves why our children have no conscience, why they don’t know right from wrong, and why it doesn’t bother them to kill strangers, their classmates, and themselves.

Probably, if we think about it long and hard enough, we can figure it out. I think it has a great deal to do with ‘WE REAP WHAT WE SOW.’

Funny how simple it is for people to trash God and then wonder why the world’s going to hell. Funny how we believe what the newspapers say, but question what the Bible says. Funny how you can send ‘jokes’ through e-mail and they spread like wildfire, but when you start sending messages regarding the Lord, people think twice about sharing. Funny how lewd, crude, vulgar and obscene articles pass freely through cyberspace, but public discussion of God is suppressed in the school and workplace.

    Are you laughing yet?

Funny how when you forward this message, you will not send it to many on your address list because you’re not sure what they believe, or what they will think of you for sending it.

Funny how we can be more worried about what other people think of us than what God thinks of us.

Pass it on if you think it has merit.

If not, then just discard it…. no one will know you did. But, if you discard this thought process, don’t sit back and complain about what bad shape the world is in.

My Best Regards, Honestly and respectfully,

    Ben Stein

  2. Worry about your own life and your own damnation. My life and my damnation is my own problem. No one invited you into their lives to make their decisions. I am all for keeping religious fairy tale dogma meant for mass control out of my life and the lives of my family. Religions hateful dogma is littered with murder, killing of infants, women, apostasy, homosexuals, slavery, gender apartheid, etc., etc. Wake up and read your supposed holy books from begining to end. Get out of cherry picking the good parts and leaving out the bad.
