I have met hundreds of Americans from Canada, Mexico, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Central America, and South America
but have never had one refer to themselves as an HISPANIC.
That term is a convenient way to group widely diverse people into a single voting block. Organizations such La Raza promote this consolidation as it is a very convenient marketing tool and one that can consolidate millions of people into a single seemingly homogenous voting group. The truth is that Americans who have immigrated from one of these countries or continents are from unique cultures and may or may not have a lot in common with each other. Mexicans have a specific heritage that is totally different from Cuba, Puerto Rico, or Central or South American nations. If we are to group all of these people under the Hispanic banner, why don’t we call all of those from Europe who are American Citizens Europeans, or Euro-Americans? It is because those of us with European lineage consider our native cultures to be unique. My Italian heritage is totally different from my wife’s Irish heritage. Obviously those of Irish decent are superior! The same is true for someone from Guatemala marrying someone from Chile. They come from different countries and cultures and hopefully will maintain their pride in their native countries and differences.
So why do we allow this ethnic consolidation when it comes to Hispanics?
Because the Democrat party want to make it easier on themselves in creating a “different” kind of people they can use to exploit and form a voting block. Organizations like La Raza have the same goal as it helps their membership drives and they don’t actually have to deal with the differences between Guatemalans, Chileans and Mexicans!
The other question is why those people of different cultures and sub-cultures allow themselves to be grouped under the Hispanic Banner? Do you really think that the Democrats or organizations such as La Raza really support you, your family or your value system? I think not.
Obama Panders to La Raza:
This week Obama spoke at the annual La Raza conference in Washington DC. Of course the number one topic was Immigration and specifically the legalization of illegal aliens residing in the US. La Raza is consistent in their push for all out amnesty. Obama is hypocritical when telling the conference that if it was up to him he would make them all legal, basically. He said:
“The idea of doing things on my own is very tempting, I promise you, not just on immigration reform. But that’s not how our system works. That’s not how our democracy functions…” He also said, “We work every day to make sure we are enforcing flawed lawsin the most humane possible way”. What a cop-out. He is blatantly ignores us Immigration law and the safety of US citizens, regardless of their country of origin. Further, 2 out of 3 likely U.S. Voters think gaining control of the border is more important than legalizing the status of illegal immigrants already living in America when it comes to immigration reform policy. Apparently Obama does not believe in democracy and rule by the people unless HE agrees with them!
Did anyone from La Raza ask Obama why he and the Democrat controlled House and Senate did not pass amnesty when they had an absolute majority the first two years of his term. Of course not! La Raza has to make sure it behaves within the Democrat Party so they get the free goodies from the government. So, since Obama and La Raza do not really do things they say will benefit “Hispanics”, especially illegal ones, why do you support them?
Southern Immigrants come from Conservative Cultures:
Socially, the many immigrants I know that came from nations from our Southern Neighbors do not support abortion; are hard-working men and women; are family oriented; are law-abiding; and basically are conservative in their social outlook. So then why is there any support for the liberal agenda that is represented by the Democrat Party by these immigrants? I don’t really think there is but I will also state that conservatives have done very little to communicate conservative values to this valued immigrants. Rather, some on the Right think they have to move to the left to attract these people. How can you out-liberal a liberal? This is insane. We need to communicate what we stand for then let all of these immigrants decide on their own who best represents their own culture, belief systems, and values. It is insulting to the say the least that we have to suppport illegal immigration to attract law abiding immigrants from our enighboring south. No wonder these immigrants don’t know who or what to believe. Belief in God, family, and a strong work ethic is at the core of these immigrants. Not support for illegal immigration.
