Political Correctness Is a Fraud, and It Can Kill You!
The real story behind Juan Williams “Racial”, “Islamophobic” remarks to Bill O’Reilly is not what he said, but what he said is what every thinking American, and Arabs around the world, think!
For those who missed it, Juan Williams is a Left Wing member of NPR’s staff (redundant) and he is also a Fox contributor. Juan defends Obama like a momma Grizzly defending her cubs. He is left wing other than his defense of Christianity. He has also written some very good and balanced books and articles on the civil rights movement. By in large, he slams the right most of the time and supports the progressive agenda.
He was on the Bill O’Reilly show last night as BO was trying to get more support for his remarks regarding 9-11 and the building of the Mosque at Ground Zero, on the View, AKA, “Very Ideological, Eccentric, Women” (sorry Elisabeth). When Juan spoke, he said:
“Look, Bill, I’m not a bigot. You know the kind of books I’ve written about the civil rights movement in this country. But when I get on the plane, I got to tell you, if I see people who are in Muslim garb and I think, you know, they are identifying themselves first and foremost as Muslims, I get worried. I get nervous.” Williams went on to say: “…saying Christians shouldn’t be blamed for Oklahoma City bomber Timothy McVeigh.”
NPR, after receiving a very nice contribution yesterday from Left Wing Super Progressive George Soros, (sure this is not connected) fired Juan today without even a face to face exit interview. (Maybe Juan should call Don Imus and commiserate on how tolerant the left is of free speech). The CEO of NPR said that Williams should keep his beliefs between himself and his psychiatrist. Wow!
The truth is that if Vivian Schiller, the CEO of NPR, had an inkling of honesty she would admit to the same thoughts and fears that Juan expressed every time she goes into an airport or subway and encounters a group of 20-30 year old “middle eastern looking” males who are gathered together waiting to board and carrying backpacks or carryon luggage. If she doesn’t subconscious or consciously experience the same feelings and fears, she was born yesterday around 5:00AM or she is just plain ignorant. I recently traveled to the Middle East and experienced profiling everywhere I went. There were metal detectors in restaurants, hotels, casinos (yes Gracie they do gamble in Muslim countries), airports, tourist areas, etc. But, the only people that they make go through the scanners and other security check points are 20-50 year old “middle eastern looking” males who are gathered together waiting to enter the facility. We never once had to go through security screening except at the airport and even that was laughable.
The left has convinced the world that if you have a knee jerk reaction when seeing a person based on that person’s race, ethnicity or national origin that you are a bigot, a racist or whatever their word of the month is that is derogatory. The left drags out the Fourth Amendment to the Constitution regarding “unlawful search and seizure” and the Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution regarding “Equal Protection”. Neither Amendment says you have to be deaf, mute, blind and stupid!
If there is a Middle Eastern looking person(s) in the airport, carrying a bag with electrical wires sticking out, or if there is smoke coming out of his (their) backpack and he (they) is/are sweating, you may want to go to the other end of the terminal! If you are in the airplane at 40,000′, check the seatback pocket to see if the Gideons left a Bible there! Profiling is the best first line of defense tool that law enforcement and security agents can employ. Why screen an 80 year old grandmother in an airport. When the first 80 year old grandmother blows up a 747, we can add them to the list. Until then, give her a gin and tonic and make her comfortable. If there is an individual or a group of individuals that are 20-30 year old males, possible females as well after our experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the are Middle Eastern “looking”, and they are acting nervous or otherwise abnormal, then keep an eye on them. If Vivian Schiller, the CEO of NPR, is sitting a long way from these people and you are sitting next to these people, ask her to switch places!
Even Obama said his dear old departed Grandmother, God rest her soul, who was white, feared for her life when being approached by a group of young black males who were not exactly dressed in suits and ties. Here is the real kicker though, Juan Williams is African American!
