Private US Healthcare Vs the UK and Canada

It has been reported that The Investor’s Business Daily published statistics that were gathered though a UN survey.  The results mirror other comparisons that have been published by several organizations.  The results are not surprising  to anyone who has done even a small amount of research on our healthcare system versus the socialized systems in the UK and Canada.  We are continuing to verify the exact source of these statistics and to add other sources.   The graph below shows the reported results of the survey.

  • Percentage of men and women who survived a cancer five years after diagnosis:  The US rates 40% higher than the UK and over 50% higher than Canada.
  • Percentage of patients diagnosed with diabetes who received treatment within six months:  The US patients received timely treatment more than 6 times those in the UK and twice as many as those in Canada.
  • Percentage of seniors needing hip replacement who received it within six months:  The US patients received timely hip replacements more than 6 times those in the UK and twice as many as those in Canada.
  • Percentage referred to a medical specialist who see one within one month:  US Patients almost doubled those in the UK and Canada.
  • Number of MRI scanners (a prime diagnostic tool) per million people:  The US has more than 5 times the number of MRI scanners than the UK and Canada.
  • Percentage of seniors (65+), with low-income, who say they are in “excellent health”:  Our Seniors rated their health as excellent 6 times more than those in the UK and twice as often as those in Canada.

This  chart illustrates why the American People GET IT and Obama and his administration are swimming upstream.  The Obama committment to National Healthcare is ideological so facts and statistics do not enter into the equation.  Tyranny over choice is the goal and it has been achieved so far.  HHS Secretary Sebelius told ABC News Radio, “Unfortunately, there still is a great deal of confusion about what is in (Obamacare) and what isn’t,”  We know as much as you know Kathleen.  We don’t like the product no matter how you package it or sell it.  A bad idea is a bad idea.  You and your boss have spoken enough about it.  You still don’t know what is falling through the cracks, such as college health programs that may have to be eliminated thanks to you, the dynamic duo.  You blame the insurance companies for raising rates, how hypocritical is that!  You force them to cover pre-existing conditions and dependents etc.  This raises costs.  We will soon be adding a billion dollars to the deficit thanks to you and your boss.  Not that either of you care, you will both be off to bigger and better by the time we have to pay the bill.  I hear they are setting up “concierge clinics” in the Cayman Islands.  You and your boss better sign up before it is too late….
