Ending Racism – The Beck Way

Greatness is Often Short Lived

It was unfortunate that Al Sharpton did not embrace the opportunity to reach out in a positive way to Glenn.  Instead, Sharpton took the opportunity to claim that Glenn was usurping the date and that Glenn had no right to do so.  Martin Luther’s “I had a Dream Speech” is still the most memorable words every uttered by a human being.  It is unfortunate that many are not living those words.

An excerpt from that speech that is not quoted often enough is:

Like an unchecked cancer, hate corrodes the personality and eats away its vital unity. Hate destroys a man’s sense of values and his objectivity. It causes him to describe the beautiful as ugly and the ugly as beautiful, and to confuse the true with the false and the false with the true. ”  Martin Luther King, August 28, 1963.
