Make no mistake about the “Birth Control” controversy pitting Obamacare against the Catholic Church and every other Christian and Muslim religious group,
THIS CONTROVERSY IS ABOUT FORCING RELIGIOUS ORGANIZATIONS TO SUPPORT AND PAY FOR ABORTIONS.
Abortion on Demand is the Issue: While traditional birth control devices and pills are not permitted in the Catholic Church but tolerated by other religions. Abortions, whether induced by a “morning after pill” (mifepristone/RU-486) or executed by a mechanical procedure where the unborn child is extracted from the womb, are forbidden by Christian, Islamic, and Jewish religions and sects. While the media is shouting that this is a “birth control” issue, they are merely attempting to mask the real issue, abortion on demand, paid for by taxpayers and religious organizations who adamantly oppose this practice. The media is also shouting that this is a woman’s health issue and the Catholic Church and other religions are singling out women and withholding valuable healthcare from them. The bottom line is that according to Planned Parenthood there are 4,000 abortions performed per DAY and over 40 million abortions have been performed since 1973. Many organizations put this number quite a bit higher but this is mind-boggling to say the least.
Is Cost Really a deterrent to Women’s Health: Hold your proverbial horses! Medicaid covers the birth control devices, pills and the morning after pill already so the poor have access to this form of woman’s care already. Medicare also coves these same birth control devices, pills and the morning after pill even though octogenarians don’s worry too much about birth control at their age! Then you have the current health insurers who also provide birth control devices, pills and the morning after pill to 80% of those who currently are in their plans. So who is not getting birth control devices, pills and the morning after pill who is wanting to get them and why do we have to force religions organizations to violate their own teachings to cover their employees?
Starbucks vs Women’s Health: Further, the cost of birth control pills is $15.00 per month or $180.00 per year. That is the equivalent of 4 cups of whatever you drink at Starbucks PER MONTH. Or, lets say you prefer condoms. Those cost about $1.00 each. Say you are Peter Rabbit and need 20 of those per month. That would be $20.00/month or $240.00/year! That is the equivalent of 5 cups of whatever you drink at Starbucks PER MONTH. Plus, if you are Peter or Jane Rabbit, you may want to add an ounce of STD prevention and use a condom if you are so disposed. The point is that this is not a major financial hardship on anyone, especially since the poor already get them for free and the geezer squad is covered as well (I am one so I can say that).
State Versus Church Doctrine: At the core of this “birth control” debate is one issue, the Sovereignty of the State over Religions Doctrine. Can our Federal, or State governments, force religious institutions and their followers to violate their own deeply held beliefs by bowing to the Almighty Federal or State gods? Make no mistake, this is the final step in cementing MORAL RELATIVISM in the United States once and for all. We have already thrown God out of our RELIGIOUS Holidays, out of prayer in our schools and public events, and even out of military shoulder patches. The First Amendment reads:
The Last Stand: This may literally be the last chance you have as a devout, practising Christian, Muslim, or Jew in the United States to stand up and fight for your religious freedom. You stood by when the progressives took away prayer in schools, prayers before athletic events and other public social events. You mutter when they try to take God out of the Pledge of allegiance or remove any reference to Him on public buildings or logos. This is the time to draw the line in the sand and stand up and FIGHT! Any President or Congressman who stand for this abomination should be removed from office via the voting booth or impeachment or recall.
Support your local Church and stand against this continuing encroachment by the Progressive Left to obliterate your freedom of religion. Don’t fall prey to their slogans, sound bites and attempts to deflect the issue by saying everyone uses birth control or that the Church needs to control their priests rather than fight a birth control issue. Those are not part of this discussion and are not germane to the core Constitutional issue. The Left wants to make sure that we increase the current 4,000 Abortions Per Day to whatever number makes them feel good. Those are twice as many babies being prevented from being born than the total population of the town I grew up in. How did we get to this point? You really think euthanasia is not far off?
